Epic, the animated movie.

In a nutshell, a very good combination of Arthur and the Invisibles mixed with Thumbalina. The animation and special affects were beautifully done. Wonderful actors were chosen for the voice overs, and I’ll even tip my hat to the storyline. Oh, okay, so maybe there’s a bit of Fern Gully in there too. Especially with the slap-stick humor.

There isn’t really anything bad to say about it. I fully endorse introducing the next generation of kids to classics by making them shiny and new. Do I think they should still be aware of the originals? Well, yeah. But how else are we going to get them over the whole “that’s old” issue?

If you have little ones, or if you just enjoy a good cartoon every now and then, this is a very good movie to see. And it will be added to the collection in the near future.

Five magnificently chosen, shrunk down to size stars that hold off the darkness. The End.
